ECE R.90 is the regulation specifying the requirements for replacement brake linings. The certificate issued according to the requirements of ECE R.90 indicates that braking performance of the substitute brake linins is equivalent to that of the original brake lining. In addition, it also covers manufacturer's production modality, production stages, adequacy of the product controls and laboratory tests carried out during the course of production and compliance of the marking and packaging conditions of the product in terms of quality management. Brake lining with ECE R90 certification is considered to be equivalent to the original brake lining within a performance tolerance of ±15%.
